Srinagar, Oct 01 (KNO): Former Chief Minister and People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of resorting to "forced nationalism" in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking to the media persons, the PDP Chief, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), questioned the direction in which Jammu and Kashmir is being taken by the BJP. “It is unfortunate that the people are being forced to stand on the National Anthem at gunpoint. I remember during our school, college days and in the picture hall or at any other functions, we used to stand without any pressure. Nobody used to pressurise us and force us to stand by the force of a gun,” she said. She added that forcing people to stand on the National Anthem at gunpoint is their (BJP's) failure. Reportedly, several spectators were detained after the Police Martyrs' Football Tournament closing ceremony in Srinagar as they allegedly failed to stand up during the National Anthem—(KNO)
